Lexicon Strategy Worksheet

Use this worksheet to map out your Hero Identity, Visual System, and the "Pedagogical Action" for each of the 10 principles.

💡 Goal: Plan Before You Keyframe

A cohesive brand film requires a strong "Visual Anchor." By defining your Hero and your technical approach now, you ensure that Appeal is baked into every scene from the start.

Section 1: Hero Identity & Appeal

Hero Type

Will your subject be a Shape (Abstract) or a Character (Rigged)?

Define your hero and commit to it before moving forward.

Personality Persona

What is the personality of your Hero? (e.g., Clumsy, Sleek, Energetic, Heavy, Industrial)

The personality drives every animation decision you make.

Section 2: Visual Language

Color Palette & Typography

List your HEX codes and font choices. How do these choices help teach the concepts?

Consider: What mood does each color convey? How does the typography reinforce your Hero's personality?

The Script (VO)

Write your 1-sentence "Hook" for the narration.

"Welcome to the Lexicon. Today we explore..."

Section 3: The Lexicon Grid

Describe the specific Visual Metaphor or "Action" you will use to demonstrate each principle.

1. Timing, Spacing & Rhythm

How does the hero hit the "beat" of the soundtrack?

2. Eases (The Graph)

Showcase the difference between mechanical and organic easing.

3. Mass & Weight

Gravity's effect on your hero. Impacts and collisions.

4. Anticipation

The "wind-up" or energy storage before a launch.

5. Arcs

Displaying the organic curved paths of natural motion.

6. Squash, Stretch & Smears

Elasticity and speed-blur through geometry.

7. Follow Through

Inertia and the "settle" of secondary parts.

8. Exaggeration

Pushing a principle to its limit for stylistic impact.

9. Secondary Animation

Micro-animations that support the main action.

10. Appeal (The Global Soul)

How does your design and staging teach "Charisma"?

Multi-Sensory Sound Design

Sound Design is 50% of the pedagogy. Map out SFX that go beyond simple collisions.

Physical Sounds

Mass/Eases/Arcs: Think friction, air-movement, and heavy landings.

Abstract Sounds

Squash/Smears/Exaggeration: Think pops, stretches, and stylized "mastery" tones.

The Rhythm

Timing/Spacing: How does the SFX lock to the frame-rate and beat?

Submission
