Building the Visual and Narrative Blueprint. Your moodboard, storyboards, and script define the world you are building.
We are stepping outside the Adobe ecosystem. I personally use PureRef for all my professional projects. It is lightweight, infinite, and -- most importantly -- it's free. I expect you to make this a permanent part of your professional workflow.
Import these into Photoshop, Procreate, or whatever you use to draw, but stick to the layout provided.
Ensure your storyboard frames include descriptions for camera movement and transitions.
Your script should be integrated into your storyboards. This includes VO (Spoken Voiceover) and On-Screen (Words animated via Kinetic Type).
Actually time yourself speaking the script. If your script takes 2 minutes to say, but your video is 60 seconds, you have a problem.
As you build these boards, think about style as substance. If you are a designer who loves grit and texture, your moodboard should reflect that. If you are focused on clean, corporate tech-motion, show that here. Your storyboards aren't just a "plan" -- they are the first time we see the world you are building.
Don't just draw what's happening. Draw HOW it's happening.
Submit your moodboard (PureRef export or PDF), storyboards, and script. These are public deliverables -- the class will critique them.
